These are new techniques that need to be introduced to amateur and professional artists. It is an eternal saying that everything is new to a newborn, and so colleagues just starting out in our profession are greeted by an abundance in the art supply shops. It's hard to get your bearings - the materials on the shelves are the products of the cheaper, commercial and the expensive, professional categories, the virtues of which need to be brought to the attention of artists.
